Dont bother

I really wanted to like this app; unfortunately, I really dont. I live in central Canada, so I use command start for my car daily in the winter. I really wish I had just gotten a traditional two way remote command start. This app requires logging in with my password every time I want to use it - why cant I just stay logged in? The log in process takes 1-2 minutes. Then I have to provide a PIN # to actually start the car. Starting the car then takes another 1-2 minutes. I got suckered because I can actually start my car from anywhere in the world, which is cool. Guess what, I almost always start my car from inside my house or work, and this app is frustratingly slow and cumbersome. Id much rather push a button on a key fob and be done. Incredibly disappointing app. I fully regret getting it.

It doesnt work‼️‼️

It does not work,it keeps saying communication error with vehicle. Ive had it at the dealership 3 times to be fixed. They fix it and a problem comes back. The limited time it does work it is very slow time consuming and unreliable.

Please Update

There is no excuse to why this app has not been updated considering the cost and yearly subscription. Updated to use Touch ID.

WORKS GREAT! But severely needs update!!!

I just got my 2016 CX-9 mobile start installed and it works great! As happy as I am that it works, Im not impressed with the app design and/or login screen. NEED TO ADD: - support for iPhone 6 / 6 Plus screen sizes - support for fingerprint scan login - better login page (currently dated) - carfinder should show vehicle location on a map too - more vehicle info like fuel level, TPMS readings, fuel economy, etc. - Send destinations to vehicles GPS - REMOTE START VIA VOICE COMMAND + Apple Watch integration.

I love my Mazda but... The remote start is a fail

For how much Mazda charges for the install and monthly service I expected more from the app. It takes way to long to log in and just has long every time one wants to do something to the car. I feel like I would use the remote start more if I had an old fashion remote on my keys. This can be slightly improved is the app lets you use Touch ID to log in.

Worst App ever

Same problem as everyone else. It worked then one day decided it only wants to say "Communication error try again later". I have had the dealership tell me its my phone. Its not because it did work prior to Feb2016. I had Mazda tell me the car is out of cellular distance. Not true since I was standing less that 1 foot away from the car while on my cell phone with Mazda. Just a horrible feature that never works.

Remote start

Cannot login I presume it is the same as my regular login But after reading the reviews here this explains why the guy at the dealership told me to get a third party unit. NO PROBLEMS!!!

Really Bad

Do not pay to have this installed on your vehicle!!! Get the keyfob instead. The app is very poorly programed and the delay is so long between your phone and the vehicle. The charge of $65 is ridiculous with a poorly created app like this. They need to add more features and improve on the lag between the phone and the vehicle.

Absolutely terrible

Since I purchased my Mazda last month and the MMS service the app and Mazdas network has never worked. As I understand it this has been the case since at least August or even July. Mazda promised a fix by Sept 2 Ned but now on Sept 30 the still doesnt work. Ive also had no response from Mazda about the issue. Just silence from my customer service inquiries. If you are buying a new Mazda Id go with the traditional remote start option as this fancy internet based one is a waste of money and Mazda charges over 60$ per tea for this useless service onto of the expensive install at time of purchase

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!

I have the MMS system installed in my 2016 Mazda 6. I have difficulty connecting to the car. Also it takes up to a minute or 2 minutes to connect using the app and then another upto 2 minute delay to request an operation. Also the app requires a login then after you login it also requires another passcode to perform an operation. There should be a user setting to allow the user to turn off the user code. Seems redundant to have so many passwords. Considering most of us also have passwords locking our phones. I find using the app is not very convenient. Siri integration would be nice so that I can just ask Siri to start my car. I find the current system very convoluted. Unless improved I would have perfered a key fob.

Not working !!

A serious disappoint. Purchased the remote with my 2016 CX-5 last week and in order to use MMS you must register through the mms site which has been offline for a week and still is not working. The app cannot be used until registering at http:mazdamobilestart.com Mazda you have dropped the ball an look bad on this one. Update : Oct 2015. System works but is slow and several attempts are sometimes required due to " communication errors". Having to enter my 8 character password to open the app and then my 4 digit pi is annoying. App needs updating!

Needs Development - Swifter Processing

Reasonable interface. Although app takes up to 1 minute + to load & then up to one minute + to process command. Hoping Mazda develops the app with an update to make swifter, user friendly and more responsive. Maybe even add more features. Too time consuming to use and the password and PIN are annoying.

2 stars only because it works

Got a new Mazda October 26th and the mobile start system was offered as a closing tool. It works, but its probably the worse app on my phone. Its not optimized for my screen size, so I get a black border on the top and bottom. Because of this the text is large and pixelated. The fact I have to log in every bloody time is annoying. Why cant it just save my login information so I can quickly start my car without typing a password? The interface is clunky and the fact it says "please wait, can take up to 1 min" for doing anything isnt acceptable. The onstar system makes this look like a prehistoric fossil. It works, but unless it improves over the next year Im probably going to cancel my subscription.

Absolute garbage. If youre using this as a Mazda freebie for the first year, good luck. If not, Dont waste your money! I have serious buyers remorse with the cx5 and this lame App. You have to use 2 different logins just to start your car ( when and if it works..which it hasnt in weeks) I may as well go out and start it myself. Dont bother trying to reach Mazda either. Theyre no help. Brutal.

Great Idea...Terrible Execution

This is a great idea and has potential to be a great app. Unfortunately, the app seems rushed and is terrible. Way to slow to connect and a real pain to login. Mazda - please put some effort into improving the app! I have had it now for 5 months. No updates or improvements. If you want to offer these tools and features please put the effort into development to make them useable. Very disappointed so far.

Its the WORST

This app is so rudimentary, outdated, and slow. The most basic and sub par app ever. You have to type a password and enter a pin every single time you want to use the remote start. It takes a minute for the password to register so you can log on, then another minute to start the engine. Seriously?! Two minutes to use the remote engine start feature you spend $500 to install plus $65 a year to keep?! Ridiculous. Then, when you get to your car after remotely starting it - the engine shuts off as soon as you open the door! What is the point of pre starting your engine if it turns off as soon as you get inside? Then you have to start it a second time?! So dumb. This whole package is really mediocre at best - PLEEEASE improve the app, add fingerprint login, and stop shutting the engine off when the door opens!

Touch ID needed!

I truly hope that there will be an upgrade to this app as there needs to be Touch ID as well as an overall speed improvement of the app!!! Great thought, just needs fine tuning...please!!!

Needs a major overhaul

Slow app, no touch-id, clunky interface no Apple Watch support. This isnt Windows 95. This is supposed to control our new 2016 Mazda 6 that came with an awesome tech package. Cmon Mazda, step up your app game to match the awesomeness of your rides.

Jeeeeesus, give us an update already!!!

It shouldnt take 3 minutes to do every little thing... With the available technology, you can let iOS users start, lock, unlock with just the use of the Touch ID ...instead of a long password, followed by a pin code. Also, whats the point if as soon as I open the door the car shuts down? Thats a little annoying. It should only happen when I dont have the key with me. I paid $500 for this system and I dont use it because of how inconvenient it really is. Fix it!

Okayish - needs performance improvements

Firstly the whole installation is kinda expensive to be honest. A lot of manufacturers provide hardware inbuilt and charge for monthly service, doesnt work like that in Mazdas case. But since I got it installed and working, I feel the app is very slow in communicating with the car. It takes a while, it could be normal since it goes through the satellite but still could use improvements. Took one star off for the price and performance. I am sure this can be fixed with an update. Update after a days use: The app requires a password every time you want to do something to your car. I can enter a password every time while walking or doing something quickly. I know this is a security feature but still doesnt give any convenience for a mobile starter. Either get a Touch ID login or another workaround. This is really annoying. Moving my rating down to 2 stars. Please get an apple watch app soon!
